Amish Friendship Bread is all about friendship, community, and connection. It’s predecessor, Friendship Cake, may have originated as far back as the 1860’s. It became popular during the Depression era, when homemakers were looking for ways to stretch a dollar, while baking a tasty treat for family and friends.
Although the recipe has gone through many changes, the basic concept has endured for generations.
