Meet Julie Rivera, Manager of La Posada, who joined us in 2014. Julie previously managed a high-rise independent living facility of 170 units in downtown San Jose. As with La Posada, the property was well respected within the community and home to a vibrant, active senior community.
Julie knows La Posada inside and out, from our history, facts, and figures to the most important element – our people. Although her duties at La Posada keep her on the go, Julie always finds time to offer a kind word, and it is clear she is thought of highly by our residents and staff. In addition to the residents, Julie loves the neighborhood, which has great “walkability”. She likes to walk to Kira Sushi, Charlie Hong Kong, Taqueria Agave, Poke Bowl, and of course, The Buttery! Also conveniently located within a few blocks are Safeway, Grocery Outlet, Whole Foods, and locally-owned green-certified Staff of Life natural foods supermarket.
La Posada is a great place to live or work, however, we all face challenges. In this unprecedented era of Covid-19 many of our residents wish things would “go back to normal”, but of course “normal” is under reconstruction and redefinition, as you read this. As Julie says, “We need to adapt and change.” Words well-spoken (for all of us)!
Julie’s favorite dish at La Posada? Looks like a toss-up between Chef Jesus’ Chile Verde and his Clam Chowder, which her grandchildren highly recommend!
