An impressive 80% of our residents have participated in vaccination clinics at La Posada, in addition to those who have obtained a vaccine through other means. Currently, none of our residents are under quarantine, and there are no active cases. Our staff continue to receive vaccinations either through La Posada or other means.
Our residents are once again enjoying breakfast and dinner in our dining room, with the appropriate precautions specified by the CDC. Several activities such as art classes, weekly entertainment with live music, Bingo, and exercise groups (both indoor and pool) have resumed, with the indoor activities taking place in the larger dining room in order to maintain social distancing. Several outside clubs have returned as well, such as Knitting, Ukulele and Bridge
Our annual Spring Brunch and Bonnet Parade, a resident favorite, took place on April 24. The La Posada bus has resumed beach and wharf walks, in addition to trips to the grocery, drug stores, banks and doctors. Several churches have come back to visit their members.
It is such a joy to once again see the smiling faces of our residents throughout La Posada, dining together, playing together and laughing together. It’s been a long, tough road. Although we are not out of the woods just yet, we want to take this opportunity to offer our heartfelt thanks to the coordinated efforts of residents and staff, in bringing La Posada one step closer to beating Covid-19.
